Operations Manager - Contract Caterer - Job Summary

This is an amazing opportunity for an Operations Manager to join an excellent and progressive company within the Contract Catering industry. My client is an outstanding Contract Catering and Hospitality specialist who has won a number of awards for service, innovation, quality and fresh food! They operate across the Business & Industry sector and are looking for an Operations Manager with B&I experience to work across 11 of their sites along the South Coast in a typically Monday to Friday working environment.

Operations Manager - Contract Caterer - Role Responsibility

As Operations Manager in this post, you will manage numerous Business & Industry sites. In addition to managing the businesses, you will have to liaise and build excellent relationships with various stakeholders and clients. You will have to consistently ensure the best service, quality and innovation. Of central importance is the ability to mobilise your management teams ensuring each site has the capacity to drive performance, both operationally and with the third party client. With such a diverse business comes great career opportunities and your progression can take you in several different directions, all driven by you and the direction you want your career to take.

In the capacity of Operations Manager you will:

  • Build, develop and motivate your management teams to deliver the very best service and quality to the client
  • Maximise profit and business opportunities within the various contracts under your remit
  • Develop the service offer and client relationship to grow the business areas covered under the various contracts
  • Be fully P&L accountable and be able to manage cost and resources to deliver profit and margin targets across several often diverse revenue streams
  • Ensure all third party client KPI's are met putting the company in the best position to retain and renegotiate the contract
  • Ensure all of your management teams are engaged, motivated and passionate about delivering the service that is expected of an outsourced service (remembering a company outsources because cost, service and quality is best achieved by an industry specialist)
  • Drive the organisation's focus on food innovation and focus on fresh food

Operations Manager - Contract Caterer - The Ideal Candidate

As Operations Manager you must have:

  • Experience within the Business & Industry sector
  • Experience of liaising with, and managing third party or outsourced client relationships is essential in this Operations Management role
  • Experience of managing large teams
  • Experience of managing full complex P&L across different diverse revenue streams
  • Commercially very astute and is always looking for ways to maximise business returns
  • Build excellent relationships with internal stakeholders and external third party clients
  • Expert at delivering results through your management teams, acting as coach, mentor and motivator
  • Understands the difference between management and leadership and displays qualities aligned to the latter
  • Results orientated with impeccable standards around quality, service and presentation
  • Substantial experience in catering (outsourced catering / hospitality is advantageous)
  • Understands how to network and get more business from an existing client base
  • Is positive, articulate and polished, and knows how to professionally interact with a third party client within their environment
  • Expert at adapting style and behaviour to meet the needs of the situation
  • Computer literate, numerate with very good verbal and interpersonal skills
