Would you like to support our Weapons Systems UK (WSUK) business with the M777 product? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Procurement Officer to be based in Barrow-In-Furness.
As a Principal Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for enabling the development of a high performing Supply chain in support of WSUK and other BAE Systems Business objectives across multiple sites and programmes.
This role provides a great opportunity to work within a growing business at BAE Systems with regular liaison and exposure to senior management. You will also have the ability to form effective working relationships internationally with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities as a Principal Procurement Officer will involve:
Ensuring that RFQ’s, RFP’s and contracts/Purchase orders are managed within the procurement business management system process and best practice and maintaining full tracebility of all contractual correspondence
Ensuring that the business management systems and the MRP System are uploaded with the appropriate data and records
Undertaking the administration of contracts ensuring suppliers conformance to contract, including holding progress meetings with suppliers and carrying out and or supporting negotiations for variations/amendments to contracts
Managing and developing suppliers relationships
Advising the IPT’s, ICT’s & Programme teams on matters relating to outsourced requirements
Ensuring, in co-operation with the multi functional integrated project teams, that favourable prices and terms of agreement are obtained from sub-contractors and collaborative partners
Experience working within procurement, finance or legal
Working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages
Previous experience and knowledge of using SAP Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) System preferred
Member, or working towards CIPS qualification preferred

You will have excellent communication skills and the aptitude to work as part of a high performing team. You will have the ability to maintain & develop relationships with internal or external customers and suppliers. You will also be willing to undertake some travel in this role to attend training courses, and to assess and manage suppliers in contract.
Salary: £32,418 + commensurate with experience
