Amazon Fulfilment Centres are huge, fast-paced operations – delivering thousands of products to customers every day. With sites dotted around the UK, we have a host of roles and opportunities available that are worth moving for. Join us as a Senior Operations Manager, and you’ll see what we mean – heading up a hundreds-strong team of Associates, you’ll put the customer at the heart of our operations and do all you can to make us the best we can be.

About the role
Reporting directly to the general manager in what is a fast-paced and time critical environment, you’ll help drive the entire customer experience. It’s all about providing our customers with the first rate service they deserve. So supporting the design, development and delivery of an effective operations strategy, you’ll drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the FC – from productivity and quality, to safety and people – and help to hone the smooth running of our Fulfilment Centre. That means reviewing our existing processes, identifying areas for improvement and delivering initiatives to prevent future issues. It also means providing motivational and inspirational leadership to Operations and Area Managers; helping them develop themselves, their teams and every aspect of their departments.

About you
You’ll have an impressive track record in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing, FMCG or distribution environment like ours. A background that will include experience of leading high volume teams involved in multiple areas, together with a real awareness of the kinds of initiatives that drive performance. With a thorough grasp of Lean techniques and Six Sigma tools, chances are you’ll be a black belt. You’ll also be the kind of person who thrives on change. Someone decisive, analytical and creative who’s not afraid of challenging decisions in order to drive improvements, and capable of operating with flexibility and focus. Academically, you’re likely to be qualified at MBA level or will at least hold a good degree in a relevant subject. And because of the expanding nature of our business, you’ll tackle new challenges with fervour and enthusiasm –soon liaising with key stakeholders across the organisation.
