London Borough of Barnet’s Adult Social Care & Health Directorate spends around £79m per annum on external services to source and deliver preventative, integrated care pathways, home and community, supported accommodation and equipment provisions for adults with complex needs.
We are looking for three Senior Category Managers to lead and develop social care category activity across the Adult Social Care & Health directorate in Barnet to deliver contracting, commissioning and service development priorities and efficiencies. As a highly skilled, experienced and qualified CIPS practitioner (Charted Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent, you will work closely with the councils central procurement function and play a key role in procuring and contract managing provisions which promote greater choice and control for adults with complex needs. A working knowledge of OJEU and EU procurement directives is desirable, along with an understanding of public sector processes
You will need to demonstrate strong skills and track record in contract and relationship management provisions and an understanding of transitions from old service models to new ways of working which are person centred. Being a strong team player is essential along with excellent communication, project management, conflict resolution and governance skills, you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective, trusting relationships with service users, providers, stakeholders and colleagues using procurement and contracting to deliver high quality solutions for the council to be able to meet the social care needs of Barnet residents.
This position is on a two year fixed-term contract.
