Project Procurement Officer
Location: Leicestershire/M1 Corridor
Basic Salary range: £43000 to £45000, subject to experience and benefits package
The successful candidate will develop and implement effective procurement strategies and procedures so materials and services are procured promptly, to cost and quality standards, accommodating flexibility to meet the projected business growth expectations.
You will also support new product development, ensuring that supply chain construct meets the technical demands at minimum cost and project risk. Delivering and maintaining pricing models commensurate with product delivery strategies and commitments.
-Develop and implement specific procurement strategies for each project and spend category.
-Develop the supply chain to meet the evolving capability requirements of the business, actively understanding supplier production capability and capacity levels.
Develop and implement Make v Buy strategies appropriate to the business.
-Negotiate supplier agreements ensuring that the business gets value for money from the supply chain.
-Develop and maintain pricing models which accurately forecast growing volume product cost projections.
-Expedite the supply chain to ensure delivery on time and to the requisite quality standards.
-Work closely with the Quality Department in the management and development of the Approved Supplier List and the monitoring of supplier performance.
-Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Design to ensure optimum product development, incorporating low risk and cost solutions from the supply chain.
-Identify and implement product and supply agreement cost reduction opportunities.
-Assist in the running of Materials Resource Planning.
-Educated to Degree level in related field.
-Membership of CIPS by exam (mandatory) with commitment to becoming MCIPS.
-Strong Engineering appreciation, with appropriate qualification
-Procurement professional in an engineering and Project environment.
-Experience of medium/high volume manufacture, ideally in consumer electronics or automotive sectors.
-Development of strategic supplier relationships.
-Strong understanding of electro/mechanical engineering.
-Proven record of managing multiple projects.
-Proven ability to generate and maintain product cost models for production volume projections.
-Strong understanding of Terms and Conditions.
-Understanding of supplier quality an advantage.
-Experience in undertaking supplier assessments.
-Proven record of improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
-Proven record of cost reduction and ability to monitor and analyse product cost.
-Sound knowledge of finance including total cost of acquisition.
