Job Purpose Summary:
Leading a team of 4 Buyers, this position is responsible for all procurement activity, ranging from high value raw materials through to indirect services. This is an excellent opportunity in a role with great scope for development with an organisation undergoing exponential growth.
Key Functional Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage procurement activities according to organisational strategic requirements.
·Lead a robust programme of supplier management including performance monitoring and issue resolution to ensure high standards of delivered supplier service.
·Identify areas to maximise cost benefits and quality improvements, ensuring these are delivered from suppliers.
·Ensure all materials and services purchased are to required quality and specification, while remaining cost effective.
·Manage key supply chain elements with suppliers to ensure flawless manufacturing and distribution operations.
·Participate with Operations and Marketing functions to identify product or programme opportunities and work with suppliers to deliver in line with plans and strategy.
·Lead and supervise procurement team including annual assessments, development and delivery of training programme.
·Ensure maintenance of controls and standards within all procurement team activities.
·An experienced procurement professional with strong and proven leadership skills.
·A demonstrable track record of high achievement, both in managing people and strategic supplier relationships.
·Applied knowledge and achievement within all areas of Supply Chain management to include logistical planning.
·An ability to develop and improve procurement processes and systems.
·Experienced in the formulisation and implementation of procurement strategy.
·Proven track record of success within a manufacturing or similar technical environment.
·Working knowledge of SAP/R3 Systems.
·MCIPS qualification or equivalent.
