1st Executive is currently leading the search for a Senior Category Manager to cover Raw Materials, standard parts, spare parts and plant for mechanical engineering. Our client is a multi billion pound global automotive company who are currently growing at an exceptional pace.

The role will be focused on heading up the category for a major division of the business covering all strategic sourcing, contract implementation, management and compliance. You will focus on the promotion of best practice across this broad category area while leading, advising and developing a team of senior buyers and analysts. The ideal candidate will operate with autonomy while embracing additional pockets of greenfield spend. This additional spend responsibility is brand new and has never been addressed before, as a result you will be expected to analyse, devise and implement a strategy across the additional spend.

Experience:
Strong track record of delivering savings for raw materials, parts and plant.
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrable experience working within a complex blue chip environment
Exceptional stakeholder management skills
Ideally educated to degree level or CIPS qualified, but not essential.
