Role:

Supply Chain Material Planner within leading Global FMCG organisation. Operating within a dynamic Materials Planning Department, managing in excess of 3000 live materials from over 100 pan-European suppliers, you will be responsible for meeting short & medium term production plans relating to material requirements.

Working collaboratively with numerous internal departments, including Materials Commodity Management, Procurement, Forecasting, Demand and Production Planning, you will be responsible for ensuring materials supply plans meet factory requirements, taking into account Regional & Global Procurement strategies, encompassing:

Placing materials purchase orders/contracts utilising SAP system.
Ensuring period of material cover is sufficient whilst maintaining target inventory levels and optimal supplier price.
Maintaining target stock levels for production
Exploring opportunities for improved planning efficiency and placing of material orders.
Highlighting supplier issues and working with Senior Management, driving resolution and minimising business impact
Building & maintaining supplier relationships, including initiating supplier performance improvement initiatives
Managing relationships with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Demand, Forecast and Production
Supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives within material supply

Requirements:

Demonstrable knowledge & experience of materials planning and purchasing methods,
Solid understanding of Supply Chain principles
Knowledge of operational systems & procedures (forecasting, MRP, BOM, etc) and related functions (Customer Services, Production Scheduling & Production Planning)
Excellent organisational & communication skills
Strong negotiating & influencing skills
Able to operate successfully in an autonomous capacity within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
