Our client is a £250M T/O manufacturing business based in Manchester. They have factories in Europe, Asia and North America. To date all of their factories have operated as independent cost centres with sales and operations aligned to each factory, the new operations director's first job has been to centralise operations. He is looking for a Global Head of Procurement to implement a global category structure.
You will be responsible for completely transforming the procurement department. This will mean assessing the existing structure and personnel. Then designing a global category structure and on boarding the right people. You will implement company wide systems and codes of best practice. With any project of change there are difficult decisions you must excellent at managing both internal and external stakeholders.
You will have experience of working in a Manufacturing or FMCG environment. You must have led the transformation of a procurement department, this may have been for an SME or it could be for a newly acquired subsidiary of a large corporate. You'll have a track record of putting in place systems and checks and controls. You will understand multi country sourcing and we be used to working in a Global environment. As important as any of this is the ability lead and work collaboratively with your team.
