My client is a national retailer headquartered in Yorkshire. They have experienced significant growth over the last 5 years and are looking to grow the existing team.
You will work very closely with one of the category buyers and deputise for them when they are off site visiting vendors. You will also be responsible for assisting the buyer in a number of duties.
-Analyse and review sales and liaising with Merchandisers weekly on stock levels
-Manage plans for stock levels; react to change in demand and logistics
-Liaise weekly with the Promotions product Buyer and agree best solutions for monthly promotions
-Seek new business opportunities and potential growth categories and incorporate into future category development plans
-Undertake monthly competitor price analysis and comparisons for relevant product category
-Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products
Analyse consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
-Keep up to date with market trends and reacting to changes in demand
You will be a strong negotiator, spots opportunities, have good analytical skills and be a strong coordinator and highly numerate.
You will need to understands customer needs
You will be capable on Microsoft Outlook, Office and Excel
You will have C or higher in GCSE English and Maths
You will have previous buying/procurement experience
Driving License and use of own car is essential
