Senior Procurement Consultant
(e-Sourcing)
Location: Essex
Salary range: £35,000 plus benefits (Scope for development)
Reporting to the e-Sourcing Manager, the role involves assisting in the delivery and development of their Procurement Strategy and e-Sourcing solution, providing subject matter expertise.
You will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including
Voluntary and Community sector organisations and Small to Medium Enterprises.
Key Accountabilities
• To aid the development of the eSourcing tools and supplier portal through engagement with service users and external stakeholders.
• Support the development of an eSourcing Vision and provide subject matter expertise in the ongoing design and implementation.
• To maintain the eContract Management element of the eSourcing tool for specific areas of spend and design/create reporting to support the governance of commercial activities.
• To ensure issues pertaining to the environment, equality and diversity, health and safety and disability (as they relate to purchasing/commercial matters) are applied in the development of the eSourcing tool, training and guidance.
• To contribute to specific reviews of procurement strategies, policies and procedures, to ensure that best procurement practice is recognised and implemented.
• To act as a named point of contact for service groups and to provide professional guidance and advice on eSourcing related matters.
• To ensure the creation of effective and appropriate performance management systems for all contracts and pre contract commercial activities to ensure corporate visibility of commercial activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• CIPS qualification, or working towards CIPS qualification.
• Degree in a business related area or relevant formal management training.
• 3-5 years purchasing experience, preferably in a large, multi-disciplined environment.
• Track record of setting up and managing contractual arrangements to deliver and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Experience of developing and implementing strategies and policies in a purchasing environment
• Strong/Advanced IT skills particularly in Microsoft Excel
