Birst technology raises the bar in supply chain advancement

Birst’s Networked BI and Analytics platform has been unveiled and is ready for use by supply chains around the globe. The platform, whose collaboration and real-time capabilities are now active, allows users to create digital supply chains.

The technology facilitates analytics and visibility up and down the supply chain, enabling enterprises to achieve as high as 99% on-time fulfilment while at the same time improving inventory turns. Businesses are also primed to experience improved planning and reduced costs, hence maximising profits.

The platform’s support of collaboration integrates internal business processes with external suppliers and customers in data that is transparently governed. With real-time visibility, decision-makers are able to proactively adjust to any changes in demand and supply. Their decisions, through transparent governance, are consistently updated in the ecosystem.

External and extranet data blending capabilities enable individual suppliers, customers and employees to upload their personal data into the network without necessarily affecting the plan that is centrally controlled. All parties involved are able to share forecasts, anticipate any changes and plan for possible scenarios.

“A digital supply chain is the modern evolution away from siloed decision-making to synchronisation across the ecosystem,” said Fred Tiso, the Citrix VP of Worldwide Operations.

“With Birst, we’ve achieved our vision of a digital supply chain and have experienced a five-fold increase in inventory turns and hit 99 per cent on-time delivery. We can bring together data from more than 300 sources to make faster decisions about supply, demand and delivery and run a virtual manufacturing operation that works with 120 suppliers and 130,000 customers,” added Tiso.

According to Brad Peters, the Chief Product Officer at Birst, mastering the supply chain is the sure way to win, and that is the very essence of the introduction of the Networked BI and Analytics platform.
